Delta II Launches Genesis Spacecraft for NASA

CAPE CANAVERAL AIR FORCE STATION, Fla., 8 August, 2001 — A Boeing Delta II lifts off from launch pad 17A at 12:13 p.m. EDT, successfully inaugurating a 38-month NASA mission to investigate the origins of the solar system. Spacecraft separation occurred 64 minutes into flight.
