Decatur, Ala. Boeing has developed a series of highly specialized tools to produce its Delta IV family of rockets in Decatur, Ala. On the right above the American Flag is the dome for the 5-meter, liquid-oxygen tanks used in the first stage of the Boeing Delta IV. On the left, a LOX tank is in a vertical stir-welding machine, used to produce the liquid-oxygen and liquid-hydrogen tanks for the 125-foot long common booster cores.
