September 25, 2004 -- Technicians lower the fifth of 16 missile interceptors planned for emplacement at Fort Greely, Alaska, by the end of 2005. Once in the silos, the interceptors are constantly monitored to ensure proper functioning of electronics and to gauge internal pressure and temperature of the propellants.
