Ground-based Midcourse Defense

FT-1 Successful Flight Test -- Flight Test (FT) - 1 took place Dec. 13, 2006. The interceptor was launched from Meck Island in the Kwajalein Island Atoll. The launch was part of the flight test program for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense program.
