Ground-based Midcourse Defense
GMD Flight Test Ground-based Interceptor (FTG)-02 -- Flight Test Ground-based Interceptor (FTG)-02 took place on Sept. 1, 2006. The operationally configured interceptor was launched from Vandenburg Air Force Base, Calif. The launch was part of the flight test program for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense program.
