Ground-based Midcourse Defense
Nov. 5, 1999 -- The first engineering model inert missile is loaded into a canister at the Boeing Ground-based Midcourse Defense Integration, Assembly, Test and Checkout facility at Redstone Arsenal, Ala., near Huntsville, Ala. Once it is sealed in the canister, the unit is moved along rails and loaded onto a specially built trailer for transportation to the Development and Integration Laboratory at The Boeing Company in Huntsville, Ala., for procedural testing and inert training.
