Ground-based Midcourse Defense
Nov. 17, 1999 -- The canister holding the engineering model inert missile is lowered into the Ground-based Midcourse Defense test silo simulator at the Development and Integration Laboratory at The Boeing Company in Huntsville, Ala., for the first time. The procedures for transporting, loading and unloading the canister at the lab were documented for future operations and training.
