Wedgetail Aircraft Rolls Out of Boeing Plant

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 31, 2002 -- The first Australian Wedgetail aircraft was rolled out Oct. 31 during a ceremony at the Boeing plant in Renton, Wash. The 737-700 will be transformed into a platform for an Airborne Early Warning & Control System, or AEW&C. Modifications to the aircraft begin in 2003. Project Wedgetail is named after Australia's native eagle.
