FCS to be featured on Discovery Channel's weekly FutureWeapons series
Future Combat Systems, the U.S. Army's premier modernization program, is among several advanced military technologies that will be featured on Discovery Channel's weekly FutureWeapons series, hosted by former Navy SEAL and weapons expert Richard "Mack" Machowicz. The hour-long episode, titled "Future Combat," is scheduled to premiere at 9 p.m. ET on Monday, April 2, and will showcase how manned and unmanned technologies and sensors are integrated on the battlefield to form an intelligent networked "system of systems" characterized by FCS. Featured technologies include the Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (SUGV), Unattended Ground Sensor (UGV), Class I and IV Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), Non-Line-of-Sight Launch System (NLOS-LS) and the Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon (NLOS-C), along with complementary systems such as the Apache attack helicopter.
