Trainer Contractor Logistics Support (CLS)
Minuteman and Peacekeeper ICBM training devices are used for initial qualification training for U.S. Air Force ICBM operations and maintenance personnel at Vandenberg AFB and for recurring training of missile operations personnel at each of the operational missile wings throughout the United States.
Boeing is under contract to provide total contract logistics support (CLS) for all Minuteman and Peacekeeper operations trainers and to provide contract maintenance support (CMS) for the missile maintenance trainers at Vandenberg AFB, Calif. Contractual requirements include availability rates, trainer software sustainment and technical manual update tasks. Prior to the winning the initial CLS contract competition in 1988, Air Force "Blue Suit" maintainers accomplished the support task. Since 1988, Boeing has maintained all assigned training devices at or above 99% available for scheduled training activities, exceeding the contractual 95% requirement.
