AWACS Prototype Development Facility (PDF)

Technologies of Interest

To help achieve PDF goals, we are interested in any new capabilities that will contribute to improving the AWACS platform. These include:

  1. 1. Government off-the-shelf (GOTS)
  2. 2. Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS)
  3. 3. As-built hardware/software
  4. 4. New technologies
  5. 5. Open Architecture System

Men working at computersThe PDF operates as as an open environment for all vendors. We have a core laboratory location within the Boeing Information, Space & Defense System's Integrated Technology Development Lab (ITDL). We provide technical support in network management and hardware connectivity for on-site product integration. The PDF is also a "virtual facility" in that prototype hardware and software can be demonstrated at any location, as required.

PDF is a showcase for advanced technologies and allows engineers to apply these technologies to command and control systems.
