U.S. Navy Orders Eighth Boeing C-40A Clipper

ST. LOUIS, Nov. 24, 2003 -- The U.S. Navy has ordered eight C-40A aircraft from Boeing to begin replacing its fleet of C-9B Skytrain aircraft used to transport cargo and passengers around the world. The C-40A, a military version of the 737-700, can operate in an all-passenger, all-cargo or "combi" configuration. Boeing has delivered six aircraft to date.
