The F-15 Eagle may have edged out the Phantom in number of years in production recently (26 to 21), but the F-4 Phantom II still holds the record for the largest production run of any supersonic fighter built in the United States. More than 5,000 aircraft were produced in the United States in 20 model configurations including nation-specific configurations. Another 138 were produced in Japan under license. About 1,300 F-15 Eagle aircraft have been built to date. Here are photos of the hallmark F-4 aircraft.
