Return to News Release

FARNBOROUGH, England, July 25, 2000 -- The airplanes the U.S. Navy will take into battle for years to come are on display this week at the Farnborough International 2000 air show near London. The Boeing Joint Strike Fighter full-scale model (foreground) stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, as the aircraft will appear on the Navy's aircraft carriers. Boeing is currently competing to build the JSF, with a winner to be selected during 2001. The Super Hornet is in production, and the company and the Navy recently signed an $8.9 billion multi-year contract for 222 aircraft.
