Boeing Receives $14.5 Million Navy Contract For ScanEagle UAVs
ST. LOUIS, April 25, 2005 -- ScanEagle is a low-cost, long-endurance UAV developed by Boeing and The Insitu Group. The UAV, which provides persisent intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance coverage, has surpassed 2,400 operational flight hours in Iraq supporting the First Marine Expeditionary Force. A patented "Skyhook" recovery system allows ScanEagle to be runway independent and operate from forward fields, mobile vehicles or ships.
