COSMO-SkyMed (1)

Boeing Launch Services (BLS), using a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Delta II 7420-10 launch vehicle successfully launched COSMO-1, the first of four COSMO-SkyMed (Constellation of Small Satellites for Mediterranean basin Observation) satellites from Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB), California, on June 7, 2007. COSMO-SkyMed, the new system for Earth observation, is based on a constellation of four radar satellites developed by Thales Alenia Space, Italia (AAS-I) for the Italian Space Agency and the Ministry of Defence.

Boeing Launch Services (BLS), attraverso un lanciatore Delta II 7420-10 della United Launch Alliance (ULA) lancerĂ  dalla base dell'aeronautica militare statunitense di Vandenberg (VDBG) in California il COSMO-1, il primo dei quattro satelliti COSMO-SkyMed (Constellation of Small Satellites for Mediterranean basin Observation) . COSMO-SkyMed, il nuovo sistema satellitare per l'osservazione terrestre che si basa su una costellazione di quattro satelliti radar sviluppati da Thales Alenia Space Italia per conto dell'Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASI) e dell Ministero della Difesa italiano.
