| UNSURPASSED PROCESSORS - Satellites built by Boeing Satellite Systems (BSS), the world's leading satellite manufacturer, feature the most capable digital signal processors (DSPs) available. Four generations of very large-scale digital signal processors have been built by BSS. The latest is at the heart of the satellites BSS is building for Spaceway, a high-speed broadband communications system. The application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) that will power the Spaceway DSPs have been designed by BSS and delivered to IBM for fabrication. These multimillion-gate (circuit) Spaceway ASICs will enable the Spaceway DSPs to execute key functions such as demodulation/modulation, fast packet switching, and control of the revolutionary Spaceway active phased-array downlink antenna.
