| RUSSIAN TV SATELLITE -- BONUM-1, based in Russia, has ordered a high-power HS 376 model satellite, launch vehicle services on a Boeing Delta II rocket, and ground satellite control equipment from Hughes Space and Communications International, Inc. The satellite, named after its owner, will deliver direct-to-home digital television services to the western part of Russia. Scheduled to last 11 years, BONUM-1 is expected to be delivered in-orbit in November 1998 and will be located at 36 degrees East longitude. BONUM-1 is the 53rd HS 376 model to be ordered from Hughes by customers around the world. |
