| BIRD'S-EYE VIEW - EUTELSAT has selected Boeing Satellite Systems, Inc. (BSS), to build e-BIRD, a broadband spacecraft that is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2002. From its orbital slot at 25.5 degrees East, the Boeing 376 HP satellite will provide Internet protocol (IP) services to Europe via spot-beam coverage and a payload of 20 active Ku-band transponders. Paris-based EUTELSAT is a new customer for BSS, the world's largest satellite manufacturer.
