| PROVIDING WARFIGHTER COMMUNICATIONS - The powerful medium-data-rate (MDR) communications payload for an U.S. Air Force Milstar II satellite provides secure, jam-resistant communications to U.S. forces through unique onboard signal and data processing capabilities. Boeing Satellite Systems, Inc. (BSS), El Segundo, Calif., a unit of The Boeing Company, is responsible for supplying the MDR communications and crosslink payloads on Milstar as shown in the photo. The satellite is scheduled to launch on Feb. 2, 2001 from Cape Canaveral Air Station, Fla.
