| SUPERBIRD-4 -- Space Communications Corporation (SCC) of Tokyo has
ordered an HS 601HP model satellite from Hughes Space and
Communications International, Inc., scheduled to be launched in late
1999 on an Ariane rocket. From its orbital slot of 162 degrees East
longitude, SUPERBIRD-4 will allow SCC to meet increasing demand for
business telecommunications services throughout Japan and the
Asia-Pacific region. It will have 23 transponders in Ku-band and 6
transponders in Ka-band. |
