| NUMBER 3 -- Telenor of Oslo, Norway, has ordered a third satellite for its fleet. The new spacecraft, Thor III, is a high-power HS 376 model to be built by Hughes Space and Communications Company. It will be collocated with the other Thor satellites at Telenor's Nordic Hot-Bird position at 1 degree West longitude, and will provide direct-to-home television programming to the Nordic countries and central and eastern Europe. Hughes, of Los Angeles, will deliver the satellite on orbit by August 1998 |
