Boeing has developed a new aircraft for a military customer built off a commercial platform – the Boeing Maritime Surveillance Aircraft. The Boeing MSA does more than leverage past programs; it directly applies advanced, proven and fielded intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities from the Boeing P-8, Airborne Warning and Control System, and Airborne Early Warning & Control programs to solve customers’ maritime domain awareness challenges.
Boeing used Bombardier's Challenger 605 business jet as a platform for the intelligence, reconnaissance and surveillance capabilities from its P-8 aircraft.
A dual-screen multi-touch mission crew workstation broadens situational awareness, simplifies operation and training, and enables crew workload sharing.
The Maritime Surveillance Aircraft can rapidly collect information and disseminate it through either line-of-sight or satellite communications systems.
The MSA's intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems are able to provide high-quality, actionable intelligence over land or water.
The MSA can come equipped with a performance-based logistics contract, which allows Boeing to keep the aircraft at peak performance.
