Chinook Flight Testers Make it Rain Over Desert

Water rained on Arizona’s parched high desert when a Boeing Test & Evaluation team offloaded eight thousand pounds of water during a recent flight test of the Advanced Chinook Rotor Blades (ACRB). Test pilots released the water while conducting a safety check of the ballast tank, a piece of test equipment used to manipulate the weight of the helicopter by adding or removing water.
