The Military Aerospace Support division is the region's leading provider of design, manufacture, modification, maintenance, and through-life support services. This support is provided for a range of aircraft, including helicopters (Kiowa, Squirrel and Chinook), large fixed wing aircraft (Boeing 707), fast combat jets (F/A-18 and F-111) and unmanned aircraft (Kalkara).
The Boeing Aerospace Support Centre (BASC) Amberley has the capability to provide full through life support service for a range of military aircraft. It currently performs upgrades, engineering support and deeper level maintenance for the RAAF’s F-111 aircraft and deeper level maintenance for the RAAF 707 Tanker/Transport fleet.
The Australian Defence Force (ADF) project AIR 5376 for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Hornet Upgrade program (HUG) commenced in 1999. The project seeks to modernise the ability of the current RAAF fleet of 55 F/A-18 "A" and 16 F/A-18 "B" aircraft and associated support systems.
Boeing Australia is also the lead for the Hornet Industry Coalition (HIC), which is responsible for providing industry support for the RAAF’s fleet of F/A-18 aircraft, based at RAAF Williamtown. This includes upgrades, deeper maintenance and the repair or replacement of components.
At Jervis Bay in NSW, Boeing Australia is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Kalkara Unmanned Aerial Target (UAT) system for the Australian Defence Force. This includes maintenance and repair of the UAT and the ground control station; preparation of the UAT for launch; controlling the UAT in flight; and recovery of the UAT at the completion of the mission.
Boeing Australia provides a broad range of engineering support services to the scientists and researchers at the Defence Science and Technology Organisation’s (DSTO) Platform Sciences Laboratory facility, located at Fishermans Bend in Melbourne, Victoria.
Boeing Australia provides full turn-key maintenance and logistics support to the Australian Army’s fleet of Bell 206B—1 (Kiowa) helicopters used for pilot training at the Army Aviation Training Centre School located in Oakey, Queensland.
