Engineer in Space (1984)

A unique feature of the agreement led to McDonnell Douglas engineer Charles Walker becoming the first non-government astronaut to fly and work aboard the shuttle. As an Engineer in Space, Walker flew with the "EOS" processing device on three shuttle flights between 1984 and 1985.
