The U.S. Air Force is transforming
itself into a more capabilities- based force increasing its focus
on the overall effectiveness of assets with real-time connectivity
of platforms and systems.
As an enabler for this strategy, Boeing Air Force Systems has
been established within Boeing Integrated Defense Systems. The
Air Force Systems business unit, led by George Muellner, is responsible
for customer satisfaction within all Boeing executed Air Force
programs. In addition, Air Force Systems will strive to establish
itself as the preferred integrator/supplier to the Air Force.
To provide the best value to the customer, Air Force Systems
is supported by individual business units, including Airlift & Tankers,
Fighters, Bombers & Weapons, Unmanned Systems, Air Force Space
and BMC3 & Strategic Systems. Utilizing these assets, Air Force
Systems will focus its unique strengths, vast capabilities and
comprehensive knowledge of the customer’s needs, to support the
broad scope of Air Force programs. This wide-ranging depth of
activity also involves coordination with Boeing’s Integrated
Defense Advanced Systems (IDeAS) and the Phantom Works organization.
The near-term challenge will be to effectively execute and support
existing programs, enable emergent systems and develop the future
of network-centric capabilities. As a facilitator of systems
for the 21st century warfighter within all the services and our
allies, Air Force Systems is committed to being an integral part
of shaping the future of the U.S. Air Force.
