Headquartered in Seal Beach, Calif.,
Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems (S&IS) is The Boeing Company’s
center for all intelligence programs. Providing innovative system
solutions for national security and space, S&IS is a leader in
large-scale systems integration, Intelligence, Surveillance and
Reconnaissance (ISR) systems, communication systems, network
systems, and protection and security systems.
S&IS offers end-to-end intelligence services such as collection,
exploitation, communication, and the creation of fused knowledge
products for all customers. Customers include many U.S. intelligence
services and related special project offices.
Major programs include the Future Imagery Architecture (FIA)
program, a multi-year contract awarded to Boeing by the NRO in
September 1999. As a key element of the National Reconnaissance
Office’s space-based architecture, this imagery reconnaissance
architecture will provide a significant enhancement to America’s
critical intelligence capability over the next decade and confirms
Boeing’s leadership in the area of space imaging.
The unique capabilities in specialized modeling, visualization,
simulation, and analysis of digital products support the National
Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) imagery development and the
National Security Agency (NSA) signals exploitation. Boeing Autometric,
a unit of S&IS and the leader in geospatial information, provides
an impressive portfolio of software products in these markets.
S&IS is also leading Boeing’s efforts to create the integrated
battlespace, a network-centric system of assets operating within
a common architecture to enable seamless sharing of information.
These efforts support the revolution of intelligence gathering
and warfighting underwater, on the ground, in the air, and in
space. The integrated battlespace architecture allows systems
to be interoperable and enables rapid mobilization, response,
and decisive action on the battlefield.
