Consistent and flawless execution separates success
from failure within aerospace. It also is a benchmark of excellence
used to judge the quality of a company's solutions for its customers.
Occasionally the journey toward performance excellence results
in national or international recognition. This year, under the
leadership of David Spong, Boeing Aerospace Support received a
2003 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. This honor symbolizes
how well a recipient has lived up to its promises to customers
and stakeholders.
Delivering on our promises requires that industry understand
the enduring needs of our customers, anticipate the capabilities
to address those needs and to partner with our customers to provide
solutions.
Our nation's missile defense and space programs are emblematic
of two such partnerships that depend upon government and contractor
teams jointly pursuing excellence to succeed. Each is highlighted
in this issue of All Systems Go, along with the teams that are
committed to providing our customers with consistent and repeatable
flawless execution.
