As the aerospace industry redefines itself to meet the needs of our customers in the 21st Century, we must be open to new working relationships between our companies and our customers at the same time that we forge creative partnerships across industry. These new teams must be characterized by an openness, a shared vision and a mutual understanding of the challenges in achieving that vision.
In today’s global economy, no company is an island unto itself, no one company can be the best in the world at everything it does. Therefore, by definition giving customers the best solutions means giving them the best of industry. Companies will only be as good as their ability to partner on a global scale.
In the past few weeks, Boeing and its customers celebrated the rollout of the Italian Air Force’s first KC-767A Tanker and the Royal Korean Air Force’s first F-15K multi-role fighter. Both programs are characterized by strong and active partnerships between our customers and global industry – and both programs are meeting or exceeding all expectations and are well ahead of schedule.
In this issue of All Systems Go, we feature several such partnerships including the EA-18G, Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft and Future Combat Systems programs, as well as the Airborne, Maritime/Fixed Station Joint Tactical Radio System program. Open and active partnerships, shared visions and a willingness to work with the best of global industry will ensure that each of these programs achieves its full potential.
