A Day in the Life of the United States Armed Forces -- Thunderbird Crew Salute the Flag
Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, Nov. 06, 2003 -- New members of the elite Thunderbirds crew tend to the precision flying team's emblem every day at Nellis Air Force Base. The ritual begins with all four removing their shoes in unison. They then break into groups of two, one pair polishing the stanchions that surround the emblem, the other pair buffing the emblem itself with special blue cloths. Finally, all four stand at attention after saluting the flag on the hangar wall.
