Boeing 702 Satellite Begins Service for DIRECTV
ST. LOUIS, April 19, 2006 -- Spaceway F2 joins its sister spacecraft, Spaceway F1, in orbit; both are Boeing 702 model satellites. Spaceway F1 and F2 include innovative, on-board digital processors and flexible payloads with fully steerable downlink antennas that can be reconfigured on orbit to seamlessly address market conditions. The spacecrafts' adaptable spot beam technology and reconfigurable routing will allow DIRECTV to bring local high definition television service to most U.S. television households.
