Boeing's presence at the 2006 Farnborough International Airshow, which takes place July 17-23, will help underscore the company's position as the global leader in the aerospace industry.
Boeing will highlight various programs that reflect its strategy of commercial and military balance.
Among these programs are:
- The 787 Dreamliner, the fastest-selling new airplane program in the history of aviation.
- The P-8A Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft, whose primary mission is to provide the U.S. Navy with persistent anti-submarine warfare.
- The 747-8, the new high-capacity 747 that offer airlines the lowest operating costs and best economics of any large passenger or freighter airplane.
In addition, Boeing executives will give briefings on key programs and issues. Officials scheduled to speak include Jim Albaugh, president and CEO, Boeing Integrated Defense Systems; Alan Mulally, Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and CEO; and Mike Bair, vice president and general manager, 787 Dreamliner Program.
To complement Boeing's presence at Farnborough, several Boeing products will be on display. Boeing and its customers will show the 777-300ER (Extended Range) passenger airplane, as well as the C-17 Globemaster III and the F-15E Strike Eagle fighter. In addition, Boeing platforms scheduled to make flying displays include the F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet, the AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopter and the V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor -- which will make its first flying display in the United Kingdom.
