The United States, in partnership with 16 nations around the globe, is leading the International Space Station program to place a 460 ton inhabitable laboratory into earth orbit. When complete, the station will provide 46,000 cubic feet of pressurized living and working space for engineers and scientists and be the space home for a permanent crew of six humans.
