Boeing employees are eligible for discount on Connexion service

Connexion by Boeing adWho doesn’t love a bargain? And a bargain that also can save time is even better. Within Boeing, thousands of potential consumers—corporate and leisure travelers—now have the opportunity to save time while saving money by getting “connected” in the air.

Boeing offers a discount on Connexion by Boeing services to employees. Boeing business travelers can, with management approval, be reimbursed for the expense in addition to receiving a reduced rate. The discount also is available to employees’ family members and Boeing retirees.

“Using Connexion by Boeing gives me the ability to work and be productive on long flights that normally would just be a lot of ‘down time’ for me,” said Sheryl Zayic, NATO AWACS Logistics manager in Kent, Wash., and a regular business traveler.

Business users follow a link found on the Boeing Travel site on the Boeing Web (
) to complete a one-time registration process for using the Connexion service. When in flight, using the Boeing-issued Citi MasterCard results in the best available discount.

Employees accessing the in-flight Internet service for personal use receive a discount via the Boeing Employee Discount site on the World Wide Web (

Leisure travelers using the Discount Web site for the first time need to complete the simple, one-time registration process by clicking “Sign Up Here” and entering company code word “flyboeing” in the appropriate field on the registration form.

“Getting connected in flight was pretty straightforward,” Zayic said, noting that the rates are comparable to what one might pay to be connected in a hotel.

Connexion by Boeing service is available on more than 100 flights a day aboard carriers Lufthansa, SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System), Japan Airlines, ANA, China Airlines and Singapore Airlines.
