Mega roof

Workers who assemble 787 Dreamliners at the Boeing South Carolina site will do so in a new factory building and under a 10-acre (4-hectare) roof that is covered with solar panels. The solar installation will generate 2.6 megawatts of electrical power, or enough to power some 250 typical homes.

Extended reach

Etihad Airways is one of the world’s fastest-growing airlines in passenger numbers. The airline, whose home base of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates is ideally located at a geographical crossroads, is extending its service into new markets by taking advantage of new long-range aircraft such as Boeing’s 777-300ER (Extended Range). It has also ordered the 787-9 Dreamliner.

Long live the queen

Boeing employees who designed and built the first 747 are known as the "Incredibles" for what they were able to accomplish. The new 747-8, the biggest airplane that Boeing has ever built, extends that legacy of excellence.
