Memphis Company Named Top Boeing Small Disadvantaged Business Supplier

SEATTLE, July 13, 1995 -- Division Systems of Memphis, Tenn., has been named the Boeing Small Disadvantaged Business Supplier of the Year.

The award, which was presented late last month, is given annually to a minority-owned small business that is among the top Boeing suppliers.

Division Systems provides Boeing with weighing, conveying, sophisticated test and measuring devices that are used to support a variety Boeing commercial and military programs, including the 747 and AWACS airplanes.

Division Systems was founded in 1988 when owner Steven Rael Muccillo put up $2,000 of personal savings to start the business. Sales have increased each more than 50 percent.

In addition to the Boeing award, Muccillo was a finalist for the 1992 Hispanic Business Entrepreneur of the Year award. The Mid South Regional Purchasing Council named Division Systems the 1993 Supplier of the Year. Division Systems was awarded the U.S. Small Business Administration's Award for Excellence in 1993 and again in 1994.
