Machinists Union Withdraws Unfair Labor Practice Charge SEATTLE, Dec. 7, 1995 - The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has notified Boeing that because of a lack of evidence, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has withdrawn an unfair labor practice charge regarding proposed changes to company health care benefits. Under standard NLRB procedures, the IAM's charge would have been dismissed if the union had not agreed to the withdrawal. The charge, filed on Nov 9, claimed that Boeing had failed to bargain over changes to the company's medical plan and that the company made proposals with a "closed mind." Withdrawal of the charge will not impact the Dec. 19 hearing on other charges filed by the IAM. |
