Comanche Team Announces Leadership Changes

TRUMBULL, Conn., March 28, 1996 -- The Boeing Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche Joint Program Office announced several leadership changes today. The changes will be effective April 1.

James J. Morris, currently Joint Program Office director, will leave the program to become vice president and assistant general manager at Boeing Defense & Space Group, Helicopters Division, in Philadelphia. Succeeding Morris is Arthur W. Linden, currently Joint Program Office deputy director. Assuming duties as Joint Program Office deputy director is Martin H. Stieglitz, currently Boeing RAH-66 Program manager. Robert L. Moore, currently Boeing RAH-66 Program chief engineer, will succeed Stieglitz.

Before his assignment as Joint Program Office deputy director, Linden was Sikorsky program manager and Sikorsky engineering manager for Comanche. A 33-year Sikorsky veteran, Linden was a preliminary design engineer, chief of design for AAH and the NASA/Army Rotor Systems Research Aircraft, program manager for the Advanced Blade Concept XH-59A Demonstrator Aircraft, as well as the engineering manager for the DARPA/NASA/Sikorsky X-Wing program. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Connecticut and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Stieglitz was appointed RAH-66 Program manager in 1994 and served as Program chief engineer from 1991. A Boeing employee since 1964, Stieglitz held positions on the Minuteman and SRAM, Burner II and Pave Storm II programs and supervised software design for ALCM. He also held several senior management positions on the B-2 program. He holds a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington. He also earned a master of business administration degree from the University of Washington Executive Program.

Moore has been RAH-66 chief engineer since 1994 and previously had served as Mission Equipment Package development director for the Comanche Program since 1986, responsible for integration of the Boeing Sikorsky team and 11 major subcontractors. A Boeing employee for more than 30 years, Moore previously served as B-1B Avionics deputy program manager, Automated Test Equipment Program chief engineer, and B-1A Avionics Program flight test engineer. Moore holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University.

The Boeing Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche is the U.S. Army's 21st-century combat helicopter, in development by a team of leading aerospace companies headed by Boeing and Sikorsky Aircraft, Inc., a unit of United Technologies.
