SEATTLE, Sept. 24, 1996 -- Boeing airplanes came out on top in two recent polls conducted by the aviation trade publication, "Airfinance Journal." The September issue of "Airfinance Journal" contains the results of the publication's annual worldwide survey of investment representatives involved in financing new aircraft purchases, with Boeing airplanes taking eight of the top 10 slots. For the first time this year, the publication added an "operators' poll" to assess the preferences of aircraft leasing companies and financial institutions involved in second-hand equipment. Again, Boeing airplanes were the clear favorite, capturing nine of the top 10 positions. "This is another indication that the Boeing family of airplanes clearly delivers superior value to customers," said Richard R. Albrecht, executive vice president - Customers, Boeing Commercial Airplane Group. "We're delighted by this objective, third-party feedback." The independent survey placed the Boeing 737-300 as the No. 1 airplane on both polls, based on investor appeal, residual value, remarketing potential, the best value for the money and operational success. Aircraft investors who finance new airplanes also put Boeing airplanes in the top positions by aircraft category, with the 737-300 leading the narrow-body category, the 767-300ER topping the wide-body list and the 747-400 Freighter named the favorite in the freighter/cargo airplane category.
