The Boeing 717-200 - A New Plane for a New Market

SEATTLE, Jan. 08, 1998 -- The Boeing Company has introduced the newest member of its commercial airplane family, the Boeing 717-200. Originally launched as the McDonnell Douglas MD-95, the 717-200 series is tailored for the new 100-seat regional jet market, which includes airplanes in the 80-120 seat categories. Built by a global partnership, the 717-200 is years ahead of the competition with its efficient, modern, comfortable and ready-to-fly technology.
