SEAL BEACH, Calif., Sept. 03, 1999 -- A team led by The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] and including Hughes, Raytheon, Kodak and Harris has been awarded a Future Imagery Architecture (FIA) contract by the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).
A key element of the NRO's space-based architecture, the FIA award confirms the leadership position of Boeing in the area of space imaging. The FIA program will provide the customer with a significant enhancement to America's critical intelligence capability over the next decade.
Ed Nowinski, Boeing FIA Program Manager, stated, "This was a very hard-fought competition and the win is the result of the total commitment of our team."
