Return to News Release

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 02, 2000 -- (The Standoff Land Attack Missile Expanded Response (SLAM ER) uploaded on an F/A-18 Hornet.)

SLAM ER's titanium warhead is specifically shaped to increase penetration and becomes reactive during detonation, substantially increasing the blast and incendiary affects.

SLAM ER achieved early operational capability in the summer of 1999 and is deployed on several U.S. Navy aircraft carriers.
