British Airways Takes Its 39th And 40th Boeing 777

Return to News Release

SEATTLE, Dec. 07, 2000 -- British Airways, already the largest Boeing 777 customer outside the United States, today took delivery of its 39th and 40th 777, both 777-200ERs (extended range). The airline will receive five more 777-200ERs next year. British Airways was quick to realize, along with Boeing, that the need for long-range, non-stop routes is rapidly increasing and the 777 is ideally suited to meet this need with its unparalleled comfort and economical operations. Recent passenger preference polls have found three out of four passengers prefer the 777 for long-haul flights.
