Boeing JSF X-32B Completes Testing With Supersonic Flights
NAVAL AIR STATION PATUXENT RIVER, Md., July 30, 2001 -- The Boeing Joint Strike Fighter X-32B concept demonstrator on July 28 ended one of the most successful flight test programs in aviation history with five flights in one day. Since March it has flown 78 flights and 43.2 hours. The X-32B clearly showed that the Boeing direct-lift approach to the JSF program's short takeoff/vertical landing requirement is the simplest, most reliable and lowest-risk solution.
