Return to News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif., July 31, 2001 -- The first Boeing 717-200 delivered to Turkmenistan Airlines is shown taking off from the Long Beach Airport on a pre-delivery test flight. Airline officials and Boeing executives thanked workers in the Long Beach, Calif., assembly facility Tuesday as the airline formally accepted delivery of the airplane. Turkmenistan is scheduled to take two more of the popular 100-passenger airplanes later this year. The airline becomes the eighth operator of the Boeing 717.
