Boeing-built 601 High Powered Satellite Set to Launch for Asia Satellite

ST. LOUIS, April 08, 2003 -- The Boeing-built AsiaSat 4 communication satellite undergoes preparations at the El Segundo-based satellite factory before shipping to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. The Boeing 601HP satellite was built and delivered by Boeing Satellite Systems International for Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company, Hong Kong. AsiaSat 4 is designed to provide broadcast, telecommunications and broadband multimedia services to the Asia Pacific region, and direct-to-home broadcast services to Hong Kong.
