Boeing, All Nippon Airways Finalize Order for 45 Boeing 737s

SEATTLE, Wash., June 30, 2003 -- The Boeing Company today confirmed that All Nippon Airways (ANA) finalized its agreement to purchase 45 Boeing 737-700 airplanes. The signing of this definitive agreement increases Boeing Commercial Airplanes' 2003 order total to 86 airplanes.

Since its inception, 214 airlines have purchased more than 5,000 737s, making it the best-selling commercial airplane in history.

Other facts about the 737:

-- About 1,200 737s are in the air at all times.

-- A 737 takes off somewhere in the world every 5.3 seconds.

-- The 737 fleet has flown about 124 million hours in service, traveling 56 billion miles (90 billion kilometers).
