Launch Date Set for 11th Boeing-Built UHF Follow-On Naval Satellite
ST. LOUIS , Dec. 10, 2003 -- READY TO SERVE -- The 11th Boeing-built UHF Follow-On (UFO) F11 satellite is tested in the Boeing Satellite Systems factory prior to its shipment to Cape Canaveral, Fla. for a planned Dec. 15 launch. The Boeing 601 satellite was built for the U.S. Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) in San Diego. The spacecraft will provide additional UHF channels and greater flexibility in configuring communication services.
