Boeing, Korean Air Announce 747-400 Special Freighter Kit Order

Return to News Release

SEATTLE, June 24, 2004 -- Korean Air becomes the third 747-400 Special Freighter customer with an order for up to 20 conversion kits. This agreement is in addition to two new 747-400 Extended Range Freighters Korean Air ordered earlier this month. Both freighters are illustrated in Korean Air livery.

Boeing offers a "turn key" solution which includes kit installation and flight certification, or air cargo operators may contract conversion and flight certification to others. One Korean Air 747-400 airplane will be converted by a Boeing-approved modification center, redelivering in August, 2006, and the remaining airplanes will be converted by Korean Air Aerospace Division.
